*Please note that I am currently spending the winter leading yoga teacher trainings in India.
Thai massage focuses on opening energy blocks within the body to promote relaxation and healing. The combination of static and dynamic movements, stretching and compression, acupressure points, body harmonics, and transmitting positive intentions stimulates the flow of energy following the body’s natural energy lines. Therapeutic thai massage aims to treat the root cause of imbalances in the body in addition to relieving tension. Each massage is tailored to individual’s specific needs and becomes a meditative experience for both the giver and receiver.
One of my teacher’s, Till Heeg, sums up what thai massage is all about in this video.
My goal is to make thai massage more accessible financially. By working freelance there is no overhead cost to pay to a spa or leasing space (a 1.5 hr thai massage at established spas typically goes for $120+). In my opinion a fully body treatment should last between 1.5 – 2 hours to allow for proper warming up, covering the whole body, directing attention to areas where extra attention is needed, and concluding. One hour massage is also available for those with busier schedules or for a more focused therapeutic massage.
*Oils are available during the face massage portion of the session for no extra charge (typically oils aren’t used in thai massage but massage is about what makes you comfortable).
I am a member of THAI, the Thai Healing Alliance International, and have completed 300 hours of cumulative training at the Thai Massage School Shivagakomarpaj and Sunshine Thai Massage Network schools in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I am also a 500 hour certified yoga teacher, spending winters as a trainer of prospective yoga teachers at Smriti Yoga in Goa, India. I am a Reiki Level 2 practitioner and am also available for reiki treatments or they can be incorporated into massage as well. My goal is to bring the wisdom of eastern healing techniques back home to the west.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to set up a treatment.
Health and happiness,
